Title: Frindle

After reading Frindle, we think Andrew Clements has an enormous amount of talent. In Frindle, Nick is in fifth grade and has to go head to head with Dangerous Grangerous. Nick has always been a trickster, for example, in third grade Nick decided to bring a little tropical island to his class in February. When Nick tried his famous homework stopper in fifth grade, it backfired. But you will just have to keep reading to find out how it backfired. What we will tell you is that when Nick found a ballpoint pen lying on the street, he started calling it a 'Frindle'. This is the beginning of Nick and the Lone Granger’s massive word war. There was no ending to the word war because is was not just Nick’s word, it became everyone’s word. This book will keep you guessing throughout every chapter and when one question is answered, a hundred more pop up just like those pop up ads on the internet. We recommend this book to fourth, fifth, and all of the above grades because we liked it and you will too.
