I gulped, feeling the pitiful tears that have come to define me trickle down my cheeks. 'He' didn't like that; the Dark Lord loathed me for my weakness, for my inability to conceal my fear, and for even posessing it to begin with. But how could I not be afriad? With my trembling hands clasped tightly together I looked up at the house, staring at it intently as if I was studying it for a sign of recognition. My Master, The Dark Lord, tutted with impaitience causing me to acknoledge him. My mind was racing; my heart pounding furiously in my chest.
'It's there.' I whispered, although it came out as nothing more than a squeek.
The Dark Lord laughed with glee, rubbing his skelenton thin hands together in pleasure. His eyes sparkled with malice.
'The Potters...' He hissed gently, as if he would merely befriend the people hiding in the house. His tone then suddenly turned as harsh a riveted steel. 'Will be mine.'
I felt my knees give way from beneth me. I hit the floor, unable to stop myself from collapsing. My Master eyed me with fury.
'Get up!' He spat, eying me with distaste. He moved forward slightly, towards the house, towards the Potters- my 'friends'.
'You can go.' The Dark Lord eventually informed me. I took a deep breath, stunned at this generosity.
'Pardon?' I asked, questioning my hearing.
He laughed again; the same cold, high laugh that seemed something other than human.
'You may go.' He stated. I didn't need telling again; my legs like jelly I ran. House whipped past in a blur as I tore through the thick blanket of night that had engulfed us, but it wasn't enough to spurn the screams.
I stopped dead. He'd done it. And I'd helped. I'd helped to kill my best friends.
