Title: Straight from Heaven's brightest star
'A little sunbeam came down on earth.
How heaven smiled to bless your birth.
Precious one, so small, so sweet,
straight from heaven's brightest star', said my father with a smile.
'I was sura that this little angel, he con tinued, would fill my lfe with lots of love. I just wanted tu cuddle her. I gave her a small scratchy and whiskery kiss on her chubby little face and gazed at her: how morning shined to see a lovely child like her. i promised myself that i would a lways fulfil even her slightest desires.'
'Was i that cute?',i said with a smirk.
'And you guess you were. you were the most prettiest child that i ever saw', replied my father.
'Then papa?', i asked eagerly.
'Then, he chuckled, you were still in your baby-walker and yet you filled the whole house with your little happy chirps and ceaseless laughter.'
'Well, i was given the task to make you sleep, and thanks god, you were a very good baby. You fell asleep extremely fast.
Every night i watched you sleep; i felt all the day' stress drain. you rolled into myhands without waking up and your little hand closed around my finger. I smiled and put you into your cradle.'
'Was i so angelic as i grew?', i inquired sarcastically.
'Well, i must admit that no. I even remember the time when you had put a live spider on your mother's back on April's fool day', he grinned.
'I like spiders. they're so fluffy and mind you, mum was at least 100 times its size', i said with a sneer.
he laughed and patted me on the head; i grinned sheepishly.
'You're still the same; and as you grew and you're still growing, you became a very jolly girl. Aftre your little brother's birth, you became very responsible and mature. you conquered everybody's heart with your humorous character. and you are a model for your small cousins. i am very proud to say that you are my daughter' said my dad with a fatherly expression.
'Yeah, yeah. Stop buttering me please. you too were the best of fathers...'
'Papa, please don't go. i need you; we all need you here', i muttered.
'you know i need to go to another country for my work. and i am going to England to get some money to pay your tertiary studies, and besides you can come and see me during your holidays', mumbled my father.
Ireasond myself and forced a small smile. My dad took me in his arms.
'I love you pops', i said.
'Ilove you too' he said as a tear trickled down his cheeks.
