Title: I wish I could make it
Do you really think that I can do this?
I can feel the tears cascade down my face,
See the fresh gashes invisible on my skin.
And I scream silently inside my mind,
Feeling the cries echo over and over... ceaselessly.
I wish I could make it.
You tell me you know I will get through.
Your arms hug me tight and your words touch my soul,
I’m blocking it out; trying to forget,
Yet something still hurts; refuses to lie,
And the ignorance of my pain gives me cravings to die.
And I know the implications held by these,
I’m aware of the hurt that they can cause,
But these thoughts are refusing to fade away,
Despite my desperate cries.
I wish I could make it.
Do you think that I have inner strength?
I can feel my head pounding frantically,
I’m flooded by terror and plagued by pain,
I just can’t break away...
I’m fighting and trying so goddamn hard,
I wish I was strong.
You’re smiling and laughing with a twinkle in your eye,
I’m trying to respond but I’m dead inside,
Apathy seems to have ran through my body,
Compassion is a distant calling from my past,
My determination seems to be dimming out to the dark,
Ripped at the seems; I’m falling apart,
I wonder why I’m holding on,
Not only to life- but to anguish and hurt,
Why can’t I just manage to let go?
I’m so sick of feeling so weak,
I wish I was strong.
I wish I could make it.
