Title: Deserted

By myself in a crowded hall,
surrounded by peoople, but alone just the same.
I hide in the corner,
where no one knows my name.
The shadows consume me,
Enveloped in darkness.
The walls of my world are bare,
Covered by simple starkness.
I hear a whisper
From inside my mind.
It's the demon inside me
Looking to find
More anger to feed,
It grows from my rage.
Consoling my needs,
My body its cage.
Every time I am angered,
The demon shows through.
It says with my vioce
'Don't make me hurt you.'
It sees through my eyes
The object of my anger.
Sweet thoughts of revenge
Make my demon linger.
I want it to go
I need an exorcism.
My body convulses,
My demon is causing spasms.
The more my demon feeds,
The sronger he gets,
But it weakens my spirit,
I hang inches from death.
I want it to end,
To be alone once more.
My strength almost gone,
I lie still on the floor.
My demon is gone,
It has murdered its host.
All that is left
Is a weak fragile ghost.
I was weak and vulnerable,
The demon offered hope.
But it leeched all my life,
and cut the end of my rope.
