Title: The Invisibility Cloak Becomes Invisible. Part II
“Hermione, don’t you understand, this is not something we can tell anyone about”, said Harry, “It’s an offence to the school if some student has stolen something. Plus, I don’t want to disturb Dumbledore.”
“Yeah, like Harry happily walks into his office and goes ‘Sir, The Invisibility Cloak has been stolen’”, joked Ron.
“Stop joking”, said Hermione, annoyed.
“Listen guys, let’s just try and find it ourselves”, said Harry.
“And what if we can’t?” asked Hermione.
“Then, I’ll probably HAVE to go to Dumbledore”, replied Harry.
“So, when and where do we start?” asked Ron.
“Let’s-”, said Harry.
“Not now”, broke in, Hermione, “It’s almost time for dinner and we can’t do anything at this time of the night anyway. I think you two should think of places to start searching and we’ll begin our search tomorrow after Harry’s qudditch practice”. The three of them had dinner, went to their respective dorms and spent the night thinking of places to start their search and eventually feel asleep. The next day passed quite slowly but finally, Harry was over with his quidditch practice and was ready to retrieve his stolen Invisibility Cloak.
“Firstly”, said Hermione, “we need to list the people we suspect”.
“Huh?” Ron asked
“We need to make a list of the people we suspect for stealing Harry’s cloak”, repeated Hermione.
“Are you absolutely sure it was stolen”, asked Harry, “no one knows about the Invisibility Cloak, you know”
“I’m absolutely sure about it being stolen, someone must have found out about it.” said Hermione.
“Okay. So, much that I hate to say it, it must have been a Gryffindor”, concluded Harry.
“Yes”, said Hermione.
“But who would have done it?” Ron asked, puzzled, “Gryffindors are definitely not the thief type.”
“Yeah, it’s kind of confusing. I mean, firstly, how could someone have found out about the Invisibility Cloak and secondly, why would they steal it?”, asked Harry.
“The second question is quite easy to answer”, said Hermione in her usual Miss Know-It-All way “Isn’t it obvious. The Invisibility Cloak is quite an interesting thing to own”.
