Title: The Birthday Wish
It was almost June 23 and Harry didn't know what was going to happen. He was about ready to burst with excitement! He wondered what Hermoine and Ron and all his other friends might give him. Burty's Everyflavor beans, chocolate frogs, a lifetime supply of wizard cards, no... that was to far to dream of. It would never happen.
The next day Harry got an owl. He brought the owl up to Dudley's second bedroom and took the parchment wrapped up at its feet. He stopped though and suddenly began to drink in the bird's features. It was highly dishevled and looked as if it had gone through snow, wind, and even FIRE! The bird's wing tips looked as if they had been scorched! He then looked back at the letter smiling in such a way that right then and there if Dudley's father had been in the room he would have wondered if he was up to more mischeif.
Of course Harry kneqw that Sirius had sent him a birthday wish! It read:
Dear Harry,
I have spoken to Dumbledore and we think it right to allow you a birthday present to come up to where I am living now for exactly one week. I'm sorry that it can't be more but they are still searching for me and they might suspect foulplay if you are gone any longer. I hope you can join me! I will send Hagrid to get you if you will send an owl telling me you will. I can completely understand if you won't.
This was the wish Harry thought he'd never ever get to have! He immiediatly scribbled down a message with that huge smile on his face and sent the dishevled owl back to wherever it had come. Harry knew now that nothing could ever sadden him again. Even knowing that the dementors will always be out there.
This is a dedication to Daniel Radcliff. Happy Birthday you movie star you!
