Pokemon: A New Generation-Chapter 2~ Reality Unlocks


Brandi's eyes flutter open as she wipes her drowsy blue eyes and takes to the morning light.
Her long blond hair flips from out of her face to behind her head like normal.
Then..she notices she has something clutched in her left hand. She hadn't gone to sleep with anyrhing in her hands...
She opened up her palm and she couldn't beleive what she saw.........

...........It was that golden key..it was so beautiful. But..could it have been the one from her dream? But that meant..her dream was a sign. Could Jirachi have been warning her of her future? Was saving it part of her destiny? But how....how could this be? How could a little girl save all the ledgendary pokemon who's powers exceed many onthers? And..if they were in danger...what force could possibly trap them? Could it be...those people from her dreams? She didn't have all the answers yet..but she hoped to find them. And the first step up the ladder of fate was starting her journey. She quickly got dressed in a short white top with pink pants and a black belt. She also wore a pink leather jacket along with some long, white gloves. She placed the key around her neck and grabbed her black backpack. She also placed a fake-white daisy in her hair behind her ear and some shades above her eyes and on her head. Her pink lip gloss was the perfect touch! She was soon to find out what awaited her in Prof.Ivon's lab. She decided not to tell of the key or the dream which led up to it..she didn't want to look crazy on her first day as a trainer...neither did she want to jynx her future. She ran down stairs and ggrabbed a bite of toast. Her brother came up behind her along with his Spinda on his shoulder.
'So hows Spinda's trainin' goin?' Asked Brandi
'Well..she is my newest pokemon...she needs a little work with her confusion attacks...but all in all shes really friendly.'
Brandi gulped down her milk and removed the 'milk mustache' with a napkin. Just then Mikey noticed the key.
'Hey..where'd you get that..is that real gold...-'
Brandi grasped it to her chest.
'N-Nothing..he..he..it was just a 50 cent vending machine toy made of fools gold...I bought it for good luck on my journry.'
'Oh..thats cool I guess...'
Brandi wasn't one to lie...especially to her older brother..but she just couldn't tell him. Not even Mikey'd beleive something like that....right? She allways did trust him...it just wsasn't like her to do something like that. Something just came over her-she panicked. No. She couldn't tell him.At least- not now anyway.
Just then her mom walked in. She had brown hair wrapped in a bun. Her hair was much longer than Brandi's. Brandi' only went past her bottom, her mothers went past her ankles. Tess was her mothers maiden name, and she had a job as chyropractor. Brandi and Mikey didn't like telling others their mom cracked backs for a living so when someone asked about her job, they just said 'health'. Which wasn't all a lie because she liked to help out around the poke'centre now and then.
As Tess eyed her daughter in her training outfit she grinned and rushed to hug her.
'Oooooooowe! my little pumpkin looks so adorable in her trainer outfit..why I remember when your brother set out on his journey..you were just 4 years old..he cried and cried so much when he left he almost didn't go! (Mikey blushes and Spind grabs some peanut butter off the table and begins eating it)
''...Mom...your crushing...me...' Tess let go and Brandi coughed.
'Well..we better get going if you want to get the best choice at professor Ivon's Brandi.' Mikey said as he returned Spinda, along with the peanut butter.
'Yeah..bye Mom..I'll be back before I leave ok?'
'Alright dear..hurry back you two!'
~Mikey+Brandi~:'Kay..Bye Mom!'
Brandi was releived her mom hadn't noticed the necklace.
They walked up the dirt road..passing wild Wurmple and Zigzagoon uphill.
As they passed the gym, Mikey saw two people knocking on the gym door, both female. One in a jogging uniform with short boyish-green hair, and another girl with pink hair wearing a long yellow shirt and blue-jean shorts. The pink haired gal' had a Zigzagoon that had ears and tail like a toy pommeranian. It had obviously been in pokemon contest.
'Hey..sis..how bout we check out what they have to say..they seem like they are after a badge.'
'Alright..but you owe me.'
They walked up to the girls. They both had austraillan accents.
'Craikie..we've been waiting out here for some itme now we have.' Said the pink haired girl.
'Do you think its gentlemen like to keep us out here waiting all day?'l The greden haired said more stubbornly.
'Sorry ladies,I've been having some family errands to run, but if you want to battle me, I can open the gym for you.'
'Well olriaght then, the names Amilia Hoffings it is. Nice ta be meetin' ya.' said the pink haired girl as she stuck out her hand for a shake.
'And I'd be Maryland Hoffings. We'd been hopping for someone to show` up we have.'
The green haired girl just crossed her arms.
'The names Mikey.'
'Aah..and who might' this young Sheila be? Said Maryland in a nicer tone as she bent down to Brandi's level.
'My names Brandi.' She said in a shy way.
'Ah- a lovley name for a lovley little girl. Are you going to start a pokemon journey?'
'Yes...Im going to get my first one today from prof. Ivon today.'
'Well here take this.'
Maryland handed her a pink slip.
'Whats this?'
'It's for entering pokemon contests silly.' said Amilia as she flipped her hair.
'Pokemon Contests?' Brandi said with a confused look.
'Pokemon Contests are competitoins based on your pokemons personality. Its supposed to bring out the inner beauty of a pokemon. There are tons of competitions which are of intelligence, Beauty, ability and other things. You'll want to enter a pokemon contest. And with this pas, you can enter.'
said Maryland
'Hey..I've heard of you two.The Hoffing Sisters..I thought I'd recognized you two. Your the owners of The Pokemon Contest place in Ishmale city. The beach there is lovely..I entered my Teddiursa in the agility competition.
'That was your Teddiursa that wrecked our stage three years ago?' Maryland put on an angry face.
'Well..now its way better trained..besides..that was a long time ago.' Mikey put his arm behind his head anime style.
'He's right Maryland..but lets see if hes more talented in battle than he is in show.'
'A'ite then..we'll battle.' Maryland agreed.
Brandi placed the pass in her back pack as her brother reached in his pocket for the keys to the gym.
'Thats funny...I thought I put my key in my pocket.' Mikey dug into his other pocket.
'Chickenin' out a'' Maryland smiled.
'Scared I'll womp ya in a double Poke`mon battle?' Amillia tossed her hair again.
'No it isn't that..i really thought I had it with me..'
All of a sudden Brandi saw the key on her necklace glowing as it pointed towards the gym's welcome matt.
'Say Mikey..you wouldn't have left your key..say...under the welcome matt of the gym would you?'
'I don't think so....(lifts up matt)...hey...it's here..but how did you..(looks over at Brandi)....never mind.'
'Lets get the battle going then, shall we?' Amillia put on a game face.
Maryland lifted two flags. One was red, amnd one was green. They were in a great big room, made entirely of wood.
Brandi took a seat on the bleaches as she sipped on a bottle of water entitled 'Pure Spheal'
'For the Ever Badge, the battle between Amilia Hoffings and Mikey Goldenrod will now begin. This is a double pokemon battle. Each trainer will use two pokemon. The challenger is allowed to make substitutions as the gym leader is not. Once two pokemon are unable to battle, the battle is over. Ready..begin!'
'Go...Aridos and Lombre!' shouted Mikey
'I choose you..Zigzagoon and Charmeleon!' Amilia threw two blue poke`balls. Out poped a Charmeleon with a pink bow and that same Zigzagoon.
'Zigzagoon..sand attack...Charmeleon..Ember!'
Burning sand glistened in a beautiful spiral towards Lombre and Ariados.
'Dodge it!' Ariados and Lombre both jumped toward the opposite direction.
'Lombre, use natur power! Ariados...Poison sting!'
Lombre missed as poison stings flew like the matrix towards Zigzagoon and Charmeleon, they dodged them all except one..causing Zigzagoon to fly back.
'Zigzagoon is unable to battle!' Shouted Maryland.
'Woohoo! Alright Mikey!' Brandi rroted for her big brother from the bleacers as she dtrank more water.
'What? Already! Fine...Charmeleon..Flamethrower-aim strait at Ariados!'
Charmeleon made a beautiful leap in the air as it spun around and spat out dazzling flames. Ariados took a direct hit..but was able to recover and jump back in.
'Ariados..string shot!'
String shot went everywhere as it imprisoned Charmeleon.
'Lombre- Astonish attack!'
Lombre smashed into Charmeleon.
'Now..Bubble attack!'
'Charmeleon don't just stand there..try to burst out with your slash attack!'
But it was of no use. Charmeleon took direct damage..but on the bright side, broke free.
'Charmeleon return! Go..Pidgeot! Peck Aroura beam..aim strait for Lombre!'
Pidgeot flew up high and did an ariel twist..then flip..then dove down and flew back up to deal a strong yet jawdropping Arora beam. With in an instant, Lombre was knocked out cold, but Pidgeot fell from the sky as it huffed and puffed. Such an attack was exhausting.
'Lombre is unable to battle.'
'Hmmph...Ariados..use Stick net!'
All of a sudden..Pidgeot was trapped and couldn't fly through the silk web.
'Come on Pidgeot-You can do it` get outa there with your wing attack!'
'Ariados..use your swords dance!'
Ariados glowed as Pidgeot's eyes turned red.
Pidgeot flapped its wings and broke free. It flapped around crazily skwaking and bumping into the walls and ceiling.
'Come on Pidgeot..use peck attack..full power!'
'Ariados..stay still...get ready to jump!'
'Come on Pidgeot you can go faster than that!'
Pidgeot flew at full speed ready to peck Ariados as hard as it could.
'Wait for it.......'
'Come on!'
'Wait...'
Amilia clenched her fist as if victory was already hers.
'Now! and use string shot!'
A big sonic boom and a clang filled the air as you could see Ariados shooting string from the arir..you could see Pidgeot's beak was stuck in the ground and it's wings flapping in the air as it pushed the floor with its sharp talons. Ariadose continued to use string shot as it made Pidgeot even more stuck than before.
'Agility Ariados!'
'Come on Pidgieot flap harder! flap harder!'
Pidgeot sweat ran down its face as it flapped as hard as it could.
'Now..Extreem Speed attack Ariados!'
Aridados smashed into Pidgeot at a powerful rate, causing the ground beneeth its beak to break apart and Pidgeot to be set free.
Pidgeot was no longer confused but was breathing heavily and sweating as it stood tall. Ariados was starting to sweat as well.
'No way....after that?' Brandi said at a low tone.
'This can't be...' Mikey said with a confused face.
'Ha! Alright Pidgeot..finish this looser off with an arora beam.'
Pidgeot flew up and opene its mouth...but then all of a sudden fell from the sky in a spinning motion, landing harshly.
'Pidgeot is unable to battle..victory goes to Mikey GoldenRodd of the Cirrus Town Gym!' Maryland rose the red flag high in the air.
'Awwe! I was so close too...'
'Yay! Big brother! You won!'
Mikey and Amllia returned their pokemon and eveyone went to the poke`centre, which wasn't too far off from the gym.
As they healed their pokemon, Brandi thought of how great it would be to get to battle like that.
'Well..we best be going..Amillia and I have some training to do before we come back. I might even challenge you as well Mikey.'
'Hope your as good at pok`mon battling as your sister.'
'She wishes!' Amilia responded before Maryland could.
The two sisters laughed.
As Brandi and Mikey continued up the hill they waved good-bye too the Hoffings sisters and hoped too meet again soon.
'Here it is...Professor Ivons labratory...I'm only a few steps away from beggining my journey!'
'Well..go on lil' sis..I'm anxious to see what you choose!'
'Okay...here I go..'
Brandi Knocked on the white door attatched to the big grey building...a drop of sweat trickled down her nose as the doorknob slowly turned.............
