Pokemon: A New Generation-Chapter 3~ To 'Chuse' or Not To 'Chuse'

The door opened.....a woman with shoulder-length blue hair and green eyes, around her mid-30's opened the door. She had a long green dress on and her smile seemed clever, yet sweet.
'Ah..you must Be Brandi Goldenrod, the sister of Mikey Goldenrod. Iv'e been expecting you, come on in. But we do need to wait for the other two. You're early. When Mikey came, he was pretty lete.'
'Mikey!?...mr. allways there at the right time and place ...that Mikey..was actually late for something?!' Said Brandi astonishingly.
'Yeah...I guess it's been so long I forgot..hehe..' Mikey blushed a bit.
'Come..sit..I just made some herbal tea.' Prof. Ivon closed the door behind the others.
'So..Prof.Ivon..how come you don't have the regular starter pok`mon?'
'Well...The breeding centre's Pelipper Delivery Service all caught a case of Pokerus...it isn't bad...but it could spread to the starter pok`emon and any of them could evolve unexpectedly...so they are in special care with the training growlithe at the police academy with the Jennings. So untill the poke`rus wears off, your just stuck with what's here.'
'Oh..thats okay I guess.'
'Say Mikey, hows that old Teddiursa doin'?'
'You mean my..(presses button on Poke`ball)..Ursaring?'
'Growwwl..'
'Oowe! Its so cute! come here Ursaring, remember me?'
'Ur!'
Prof.Ivon scratches Ursaring on its ears.
'I wasn't sure it would evolve or not, like most Teddiursa, they like to stay small, and cute...except for the tough ones, who want to get bigger. Yours just seems to be...well strong and adorable..and..hmm..seems to be pine scented. Do you groom your Ursaring?'
'Well...yeah..Ursaring loves being strong and all..but it likes the feeling of being clean..and even if it looses a battle and is damaged badly..right after the poke`centre, it's off to the poke`parlor.'
'Oh yes...my daughter Isabella works there...do you know her?' prof. Ivon took a sip of tea.
'Oh...you mean the blond with the large curls and green eyes?'
'Yes...thats her.'
'She does Ursarings nails. See..(Ursaring extends its claws)...sparkly white.'
'Wow! theres not one bit of grime beneeth those nails!' Brandi exclaims putting down her tea and joining the conversation.
'Yes..Pokemon beauty was her extra in the WollyWreaths Pokemon Academy of Extending Knowledge.'
'She went there?! That's the tenth greatest Pokemon college in all of Sona region!'
'Yes..it-'
All of a sudden you hear a knock on the door, inturrupting prof. Ivon's sentence.
'-Oh..that must be them..I'll get it.'
She opens the door to a short spiky red haired boy and a girl with curly, shoulder length red hair.
Both with brown eyes and both with freckles, the girl more than the boy. They both seemed to be a little older than Brandi, of about 1 year or so.
'Yes..Todd and Tina..please, come in wont you?'
'Thank you mam.' They both said at the same time.
They both stepped in. Todd had a yellow jacket with a hood, and a white shirt underneath. with some blue baggy pants as well. Tina had a on a white tank top with blue shorts and a smaller yellow jacket. They both had on the same white shoes with blue lines towards the bottom and yellow socks.
'Aah, right on time and not a second to late!' Prof. Ivon exclaimed.
'Wow...you two sure look alot alike!' Brandi said nuetrally.
'Yeah, your right.' Mikey said looking back and forth between the two.
'Mikey, Brandi, Meet Todd and Tina Rellison. Twins from Salabarry City! They came all the way down here just to get their first pokemon!'
'So that explains it!' Mikey said as he returned Ursaring..who ate his tea cup and plate.
'Yeah...so, why'd you two come down here just to get a starter pokemon..isn't there a professor in your city?' Brandi asked curiously.
'Yes-' said Todd.
'But he left a year ago-' said Tina
'To study more about-' said Todd
'Ancient Pokemon.' Said Tina.
'So..who was he?' Brandi asked, curious to the reason they finished eachothers sentences.
'Professor Eric Gandy the second.' Todd and Tina said at the same time.
'Hey..he was on the Poke`scovery channel. He found ancient markings that may prove a ledgendary pokemons existance. But, there are others that seem to be connected to one..and each one seem to have a 'key' in each sentence.'
Brandi grabbed the key around her neck and squeased it.
'Could that pokemon be Jirachi..Mikey?'
'He thinks so..but..he can't prove it.'
'Sorry to interrupt your conversation children..but you three came to get a pokemon, and Mikey you came to help Brandi with her choice. You know more about pokemon than she does...or any of these children. If each of them would like to win in gyms..they all need pointers. You didn't get help like that..but at least now you can give it.' prof. Ivon explained as all four of them followed her to a big glass wall..filled with grass, plants, trees, and even a small body of water.
Everyone gazed at it.
'Welcome, future masters, to the Poke`dome!'
(Everyone except Mikey) '..Wow...'
'Fingers off the glass...after you Mikey.' She held the door open as Mikey, then Brandi, then Tina, then Todd walked through.
'Take a look around you...there are five pok`mon to choose from.'
There are Magby, Azurill, Igglybuff, Teddiursa, and Pichu...all able to be chosen!'
Todd picked up the Azurill, it was a male, it had an unusual long tail and green eyes.
'I pick Azurill!'
Brandi frowned. She wanted Azurill. But, it must not have been her destiny.
Tina looked over at the Magby, it was unusually small and was a female.
'Wow! this Magby's sooooooooo cute! I pick Magby!'
Brandi smiled. she knew she didn't want the Magby..she didn't verry much like smoke.
Brandi went over to the Igglybuff, Teddiursa, and Pichu.
The Igglybuff was twirling she picked it up.
'Maybe I'll choose this one!'
Brandi felt something deep inside..she knew it wasn't the right one.
She walked over to the Teddiursa that was standing on its head.
'Then..maybe a Teddiursa..like Mikey.'
Though it was a great starter pokemon...she still felt it wasn't right either.
Then she walked over to the Pichu. It had a downed face and it was slouching against a tree.
She picked it up and smiled ad it. It turned its head. It was verry adorable..but was it the right choice?
Brandi saw her Key glowing again. She then felt as if it was the right one.
'I choose Pichu!'
'I don't think that ones best for you...this Pichu has verry low self esteem...It wouldn't be good in battle...Teddiursa is..why don't you pick it?'
'But miss Ivon, you said i can choose whatever I want.'
'She's right though, Pichu have little defense..and this one seems to have especially low everything.' Mikey said as he picked it up out of Brandi's hands and placed it by a stump. It fell over and stayed that way.
'Why does it sem so sad?'
'Who knows...It could be because when it was sent as an egg, it had been rescued from a fire. No one found its parents or siblings. That egg was alone, but thats where the other four were found, but, there were other eggs like theirs. We were planning on training, and reabilitating this Pichu.' prof. Ivon said, handing the pichu a pokemon pellet to eat. It nibbled at it slowly. and then put it down.
'It wont eat, it wont sleep, it wont play. Many top pokemon nurses and highly edjucated doctors keep saying it isn't sick..it just has extreem emotional problems. They say they can't do anything to help it. And if it doen't change soon- it could-
(Brandi got an Angry face.. she stomped her foot and inerrupted her sentence)
'-No! All it needs is a friend! Theres nothing wrong with it and I choose this pichu to be my partner!'
'But Brandi are you-'
'Yes Mikey, Im sure!'
Pichu gazed up into the girl before her. It felt a bit of warmth in the pit of its stomache.
'If you didn't want me to choose it, then why did you let it be a choice?'
'Well...it was the only starter electric pokemon we had..and w had no basic grass pokemon. They were all taken a week ago. It was so socially inept..I didn't think anyone would pick it.'
'Besides Brandi..most trainers would rather wait till it became a Pikachu instead of get such a weak pokemon. I think prof. Ivon has a nice Pikachu or two to choose from if you really want an electric pokemon.'
'Mikey, I thought you of all people would understand..this is what my heart tells me. If you didn't use your heart, then Why did you choose Teddiursa, how did you kow it was the right one?'
Mikey sighed as he picked up the Pichu again and looked at it, then he looked into his sisters eyes.
'Prof. Ivon, my sister would like this pokemon.'
'Okay..she can choose this one..just be careful with such a fragile pokemon. Todd, Tina, Brandi..follow me.'
Mikey tagged along.
They walked into a fairly normal sized room, it was white and had shelves filled with things for pokemon.
'Now..whave any of you chosen a name for your pokemon?'
'My Azurills name is Splash!.' Todd hugged Azurill.
'My Magby's name is Flash!' Tina patted its head and it smiled.
'No name for mine..its special the way it is.' Brandi looked at pichu.
Pichu gave a smirk. But that was all.
'Okay then. I will give you each a container of MooMoo milk. It should last your Baby POKEMON-(emphassis on Pokemon) about a week. It is from grade A raised Milktank. I will give you each a container of Pokemon food, each different for each pokemon. I will also give you each a medicine kit filled with Antidote, Paralyze heal, Potion, Burn heal, Ice heal, fresh water, a few revives and a spray bottle of repel. There is also a side that has a bit of Iron, Zinc, Protein, Carbos, and Calcium. They are each in a small bottle. Only give them it if they need it. It will help them gain strength in certain areas. Don't use it all just to make your pokemon super strong because it will make it stop growing in that certain area for a long time. I have also given you each one rare candy. Never use this unless it is an emergency. And last but not least, I have given You each 1 elemental stone in your medicine kit. Though your starter pokemon may not need it, or if you dont want to evolve it, you may catch other pokemon that will. So Todd, you get one fire stone, Tina, one water stone, and Brandi, one thunder stone. Now, I am also giving you a variety of berry seeds. Here is your Wailmer Pail for watering them. You will aslo get my a bottle of fresh berries that are mixed. And a pokeblock case and bottle of pokeblocks. Because you need to do some things yourselves, you will not get many. Now, its time to recieve your poke'dex and Poke'nav. The Poke`dex gives you absolute info on each pokemon you see. It can tell you where you are and where certain pokemon can be found.It can also give you the weight, height, evolutions and sound of a pokemon. It tells you how many pokemon you've caught. The poke'nav records the info of each trainer you come upon and each city and town you come upon. It also keeps record of each pokemon entered in each pokemon contest and how many ribbons each have. I am also giving you 5 poke`balls, two greatballs and one ultraball. Use these wisely. Oh yeah. you may run into a gamecorner once in a while. Here is your Coin case. You will each receive 500 coins. You may also find I have given you each a good rod for pokemon fishing. Once you reach a certain town, you will be able to collect ashes for creating glass Items. Here is your soot sack. And one SS.Ticket for boat travel. Now. I have a special item for each of your pokemon. Chacoal for Magby, Mystic Water for Azurill, and Magnet, for Pichu. Last but not least, Your trainer card! Here you go. Now each of these items are important to your journey. So go out there and do your best!' Prof. Ivon grabbed a glass of water and chugged it as she wiped the sweat from her burning face.
'I do this once a year...and I never geet used yto it.'
Everyone was outside now. Everyone was talking to eachother.
'So Todd and Tina...are you going to travel together?'
'Yep!' Todd and Tina were already feeding their pokemon.
'So Mikey...are you going to enter the Pokemon Master competition this year?'
'I don't know..I don't think Im ready..'
'Oh brother! You say that every year, and you never compete! Come on now, you have over 20 badges! Just think about it because I know Me and Pichu are entering...I can tell Pichu could win, Its the best pokemon ever!'
Pichu looked up at her from the ground. Could he really ever be what she says he can?
'Well then..
'That must make us...
'Rivals!'
Todd and Tina did a pose.
'What are you doing?'
'Working on our trademark pose..we need it for when we become famous, who knows, maybe we'll battle someday.' Todd said completely without Tina finishing.
'I'd like that..would you Pichu?'
Pichu looked at the ground.
'Well Brandi, we best be going home. Mom must be eager to see what you chose as your first ever pokemon!'
'I guess your right.'
'Well..bye you guys..I hope to catch up with you two!'
'Yeah...well maybe you will!'-Todd
'Bye!'-Tina
Brandi took out Pichu's Pokeball. Pichu turned around, with droopy ears..reay to go in its confinement.
'..On second thought..how 'bout you hop up on my shoulder Pichu?'
'..Pi?' Pichu's ears lifted. It jumped on her shoulder and almost smiled completely.
'Come on Mikey Lets go...'
Just then prof. Ivon walked out.
'Hey..You forgot your backpack Brandi.'
She handed it to her. Prof. Ivon saw the half smile on Pichus face and she patted its head.
'You know I really think Pichu's in the hands of a good trainer.'
'Thanks..well..bye prof.Ivon...I hope to see you soon.'
'Bye Brandi, Bye Mikey.'
'Bye.' Mikey waved at her as did Brandi. They walked off..soon Brandi would be on a journey of her verry own.
