Title: Diaries of a PokéMorph: Letter 12

'Go, Poochyena!' the moehawked girl said, tossing out a PokéBall. A small, scruffy Poochyena burst out, growling at us. It bared its long fangs.
'Let's go, Faith!' Sheryl threw a PokéBall in the air and a Pidgey came out.
'A Pidgey? That's all ya got?' The girl laughed. 'Poochyena, use a Tackle!'
Poochyena jumped in the air, trying to reach Faith. It snapped with its teeth, but kept missing.
'Use a Scratch attack, Faith!' Sheryl said.
Faith swooped down, talons out. She left a nasty mark on Poochyena's forehead. Poochyena stumbled backwards, whimpering.
'Use a Bite!' the girl PokéPunk said, eyes flashing.
Poochyena shook its head fiercely and bit Faith on the wing. The Pidgey screeched in pain, but wriggled out of Poochyena's reach.
'C'mon, Keesha!' the PokéPunk leader said. 'Beat that bird!' I assumed the girl's name was Keesha.
'Use a Gust, Faith!' Sheryl commanded. Faith flapped her wings wildly and created a whirlwind of dust and pebbles. The wind sweeped up Poochyena and knocked it into a tree.
'Tackle again, Poochyena!' Keesha snarled, glaring at Faith.
Poochyena jumped high enough to pounce on Faith with its paws. It pinned the Pidgey down on the ground, snarling.
'Finish it off!' Keesha exclaimed.
Poochyena was just about to have Faith for lunch when it yelped. Faith was pecking its nose, a Poochyena's most sensitive area. She broke free of Poochyena's reach and chased it, pecking it on the back. Poochyena, dazed, then fainted.
'All right!' We, the PokéMorphs, cheered.
'Faith, return,' Sheryl said, recalling the tired Pidgey.
'My turn!' The other PokéPunk boy, not the leader, stepped out. He reached for his belt and threw it silently. Out burst a Zubat.
'Go, Blaze!' Gregory shouted, as his faithful Quilava stepped in front of him, eyes locked on the Zubat.
'Win it for us, Charlie!' Keesha cheered.
'Don't worry.' Charlie sneered. 'I will.'
'That's what you think,' Gregory said. 'Use an Ember attack, Blaze!'
Blaze spit a few fiery sparks out of his mouth, lighting Zubat's wings on fire. The bat-like Pokémon squealed and toppled to the ground, rolling in the dirt. It then became airborne again.
'Zubat, Leech Life!' Charlie commanded, pointing at Blaze. Zubat swooped down and bit Blaze on the neck, sucking up some of its health and reviving its own.
'Flame Wheel attack!' Gregory shouted. Blaze spit intense flames into the air and made a sort of wheel. He then fired it at Zubat, making its opponent screech in pain.
Charlie's eyes narrowed. 'Don't give up, Zubat! Bite!'
Zubat swooped down and chomped on Blaze's ear. Blaze's eyes grew with pain and it rampaged around, trying to buck Zubat off. Zubat was thrown into a tree as a result.
'Finish it off! Flamethrower!' Gregory shouted. Blaze shot a thick jet of fire straight at Zubat, burning the other Pokémon to a crisp. Charlie recalled Zubat and grumbled something, then stepping over towards Keesha.
'My turn!' the boss said, smirking evilly.
'Let's go,' I replied.
