Failure and tears. Ep8
Electrike failed. Picken had chosen another pokemon, Raticate to defeat her. Kaylee was slumped on the ground, crying. Her hair fell down from her bobble and fell around her face. Picken moved closer and swiftly handed me a note. He winked and then slapped Kaylee hard on the back and said, “Don’t worry little cousin. You’ll improve.”
Kaylee brushed her tears away and revealed her eyes. Quickly, I scrunched the note into a ball and popped it into my bag.
“What was that about?” I asked gently.
Kaylee stood up, staring straight ahead.
“He’s my most deadly enemy,” she said, her voice still shaky.
“You never told me you had a cousin!” I cried, surprised.
She turned towards me, her eyes were a fierce blue and she snarled,
“I don’t want you to know. I’m not proud of having a cousin like that! And what was all the looks about? I saw what was going on between you two! You have the hots for him, don’t you?”
I glanced down. There was no way I could explain.
“Well, he is cute. Don’t you think?”
Kaylee glared at me again, “Don’t say he’s cute! He’s certainly not cute to me! Did you see how rough he was to me? He was all cutesy with you!” Kaylee snorted and looked sickened.
I gulped and said nothing. Instead, I took Cutesy down into my hands and stroked her soft white fur. Kaylee pushed me out of her way and went off by herself. I immediately took the note and opened it.

I texted him my number and name and said I preferred what he preferred. Once that was done, I text Kaylee. She had already been for quite a while, and I was worried about her.

I sat down on the swings and folded up the note to put it in my jeans pocket. Then, I pulled out a bit of blackcurrant cake and crumbled it to let Cutesy and Whisper eat. They hadn’t eaten much since we got here.
Black currant cake is something that all white mice love. And as for Cutesy and Whisper, well, that was their favourite food.
