I shook myself awake and quickly brushed my hair down. I stretched and listened to the voice. It was Picken’s voice.I woke the other’s up and I explained to Javy who Picken was, and why he was a jerk. When we were eating our toast with butter and marmalade, Picken came in……with a girl. The girl was prancing around him and she had short blonde curly hair, her eyes were icy blue and she was stroking a Persian white cat. The cat was purring and its eyes were cold, just like hers. I watched with my mouth open as she gave him a quick kiss on the lips and settled herself down on the sofa near us. Picken smiled at us and said, “Oh, hello girls,”
It was obvious that he was trying to show me up. Telling me what I was missing. Javy didn’t even look at him as she scraped the last of the marmalade onto her toast, so, I wrenched my eyes away from him and the girl but unfortunately, he was introducing us to his girlfriend.“That’s Maxi and that’s my cousin Kaylee. I don’t know who their little friend is but I think she’s temporary.”“And who are you?” asked Javy, ignoring the last comment and biting into her toast. The girl flashed a smile at us and said in a honeyed voice, “I’m Tori. You are?”
Javy looked at us and raised her eyebrows before turning back to Tori.“It’s Javeil or rather, Javy,”
The girl pretended that she had not heard the last few words and said, “So Javeil…that’s a….usual name!”
Javy smirked slightly and went back to eating. Both Kay and me were already finished and were sipping our glass of orange juice feverishly.“Tut tut! I expect you don’t even know how much calories you’re putting on with that amount of marmalade, Javeil?”
Javy rolled her eyes at the ceiling and shrugged. She was cool with everything and I really admired her.
I would have jumped from my seat if Tori had said that to me. As if she had heard my thoughts, Tori turned to me, smiling sickly, her white teeth flashing at me.
“So, Picken’s told me all about you, Maxi. About how you play with your boyfriends and then just…dump them,”
“That sounds that you, Tori,” I said through gritted teeth. Tori gave a honeyed laugh and flicked her bobbling blonde curls away from her face as she looked at me with distaste.“You don’t even know me,” she laughed, smirking.To be continued-Battle with Tori. Ep18
