One day, Robin Hood and his merry men... wait, wrong story. Me and my team were walking through the woods.
It was a nice day. The sun was shining, a slight breeze was blowing, and Poochyenas ran freely in the dirt.
'If we went to Route 102 straight away, then we wouldn't have to get to this dead end.'
In the woods, there was a river. There was no way to get across: I had left all of my Pokemon and TMs at home. Mudkip was too small to ride the water.
'Maybe I should've brought Mantine, not Jolteon,' Dalton said.
'Nah,' I said. 'Jolteon was your very first starter. You've been through a lot: Won a pewter badge (chap.5), rescued a Cleffa(chap.7), and herded Hoothoot...(chap.8)'
Suddenly, a large mechanical pole rose from the water. Then it bent towards us, and a hand appeared on the end, and lunged at our Pokemon!
'No!' I yelled. 'You can't steal our Pokemon!'
Dalton picked up Jolteon. I scooped up Raichu. Serena and Kirk got Espeon and Treecko, then we ran. Our pokeballs were snatched right from our waists, but they only contained Torchic, Mudkip and Zigzagoon because Serena or Kirk hadn't caught any Pokemon besides Espeon or Treecko.
Another mechanical arm rose up and chased our Pokemon in our hands. My entire body was clutched and I felt myself rising in the air.
'Aaagh!' I screamed.
The others ran for their lives. I accidentally dropped Raichu, and the mechanical claw dropped me and went for Raichu.
Raichu screamed. 'RAAIIII!' Raichu was caught in the mechanical claw. Then a third claw rose up and came after the team's pokemon!
How many claws were there on that vile device? I didn't know. I ran!
'Please don't!' I yelled.
'Oh yes we will!' Three familiar voices yelled.
'Prepare for trouble...'
'And make it double...'
'To...'
'Be quiet already!' I yelled at them. I picked up a double-pronged branch that had fallen off a tree. Team Rocket's mechanical claw was on hot pursuit of Serena and Espeon!
I swung the branch and caught the mecha-arm between the prongs. I then twisted the branch around and snapped off the mecha-arm. The one that was carrying Raichu was retreating into the device!
'You can't get away with this!' I yelled to Team Rocket. With my clever stick plan, I could stop them. I picked up a stick and ran to the edge of the river. I threw a stick into the hole where the arms went. I jammed the hole with my stick and the arm stopped and the claw opened. I scooped Raichu in my arms.
'Raaiiiii!' Raichu laughed. I hugged Raichu. 3 more arms rose from the device.
Jessie laughed. 'We have 12 arms, and you only destroyed 2. This is far from over!'
I jumped over the edge and swam the water.
My friends desperately needed help. An arm had already got the Pokeballs and now 3 arms were after my friends! It was only a short way to the machine! I gripped onto a strange device on the side. It operated the mechanical arms! I told Raichu to strike the mechanical box.
It exploded! The entire machine began to crack. A hole opened, and water flooded out.
The mechanical arms were busted. 'Come here!' I told my friends.
Dalton, Kirk and Serena ran towards the hole.
A strange green-yellow Pokemon was plugged to the device, and it was knocked out from the explosion.
Kirk said, 'I don't know what that Pokemon is!'
Espeon's telepathy struck. 'It's an Electrike. It's an Electric Pokemon, as you may guess.'
The dog-like creature was burnt black and a fallen ceiling tile was placed towards its crippled body.
We looked up. The sky was visible above the tile. That was the roof of the machine...
The source of the water was coming from the top.
'How do we get up there?' I asked.
Raichu turned its tail into a lasso and rounded up a pole at the top of the machine. We climbed Raichu's tail.
'Thanks, Raichu!' Dalton said.
'I had no idea Raichu could do that!' Serena remarked.
Raichu climbed his own tail and we were facing Team Rocket.
'Where did they go?' James asked.
'I think dey're back dere,' Meowth said.
They all faced us.
'How dare you ruin our plan?!' Jessie said.
Meowth said, 'At least they blew up the decoy box for our mechanical arm!'
Three mechanical arms dove for us.
Suddenly, the mechanical arms burst and water leaked down onto us.
'What? Why? How?' Team Rocket yelled.
'This machine was submerged,' I said. 'By blowing up the electrical decoy box, the water flooded into the robot and BOOM!'
'That's not fair!' James yelled.
Wobbuffet popped up. 'Wobba!'
'Now let's get out of here before the water and electricity ignite!' I yelled. Raichu jumped off the machine. I held onto his tail and everyone else held onto me. Espeon, Jolteon and Treecko all held on tight.
'Oh no! Electrike!' I screamed.
KA-BOOM!
'TEAM ROCKET'S BLASTING OFF AGAIN!' They screamed. 'Woooobbbuuufeeeett!'
Without warning, Electrike jumped out of the machine as it blew up.
'Woah! He's safe!'
Electrike dropped into the water.
Espeon flashed its eyes. 'Someone needs to rescue Electrke...'
Serena said, 'I will, Espeon. Look at the poor thing...'
Electrike was brutally beaten, but it was surviving.
Serena said, 'Electrike...'
Electrike looked up.
Serena said, 'Come with us. We can help you.'
Electrike barked like a dog and made its way into Serena's arms.
Serena said, 'We'll get you to a Pokemon Center.'
Suddenly, three Pokeballs fell from the sky.
'Well, whaddya know - it's our Pokeballs!' Dalton and I said.
We laughed.
Time for our reflection. Team Rocket may have done a good job at beating us. But we have done a better job. And now we have a new member on our team.
Some bad days may not be bad after all.
We carried on back to the woods behind us.
And now we'll travel to Petalburg City.
