Title: Every Day, We're Safe.
Every day, I wake up in the morning and get ready for school. Every day, I absorb information at school, even though it's so boring. Every day, I joke with my friends. Every day, I come home and eat a snack. Every day, I do homework, eat dinner and use my free time while I still have it. Every day, I get ready for the next day, then go to bed.
Every day, I'm SAFE. Safe from the big, dangerous world. I'm growing up and I'm almost in high school. Life goes by fast, don't you think? I used to be so innocent, I had fun all the time, I was in elementary school. But, right before my eyes, I became older. When I become an adult, I will be IN the big, dangerous world. I will LIVE in the big, dangerous world.
Do you watch the news? Every day, there's always something. Something big. Something dangerous. People aren't safe. Yet, here WE are, at home, SAFE. I am so blessed because I have a family, friends, love, a home, food. You see, I'm growing up and I am realizing how lucky I am. There are poor people out on the streets and they are homeless. There are people dying. Every day, the time goes by. I complain. People complain. You have to admit that sometimes YOU complain. Right? I mean, who doesn't? We're human, we complain.
But, what do we complain about? We complain about the vegetables we have to eat. Yet, there are people out there, WANTING to eat food, NEEDING to eat food. Our parents are trying to feed us and we're REFUSING? I think that's sad. We're safe, we're home. We have family, friends. We complain about little things. Yet, those little things HELP us, and we're saying no to them.
I guess my point is, OUT there, we're on our own. Right now, be glad for you have. There are people who want what you have. So, while you have it... be glad you have it. Because right before your eyes, your life will change too. Don't be scared, just be ready. Realize that you're lucky for what you have.
