Title: my perception equals my reality

'What are you an expert at?'
This is a very interesting question. One could say their occupation, a trade, a sport, etc...You'll find some poor sap out there who'll say 'I'm an expert at being nice' or something as sad as that. But who determines that all these people are genuine experts? Who says that this one is an expert and this one is not? If you say you are an expert at an occupation, your salary can define your level of expertise. The higher in the salary bracket you go, the higher level of expertise you must maintain. Expertise in sports is determined by the level of play. If you compete often and for glory, you may be an expert. If you play only when the spirit moves you, you may not be an expert. BUt, not true regarding all cases. Lets take the sport of tennis. John MacEnroe is no longer a professional and does not play every day, yet he is an expert. I may play everyday and professionally, but my examining my skills even a passerby can determine that I am no expert.
In regards to the experts of sappiness (meaning people who say they are experts at feeling, or certain traits) this expertise is based upon one's reality. Some guys I know think theu are 'playas'. In their minds they view themselves as experts of wooing and flirting. In my mind they are experts at annoying and infuriating. So who is correct? I would say myself considering the fact these 'playas' do not have girlfriends. But what do I know, I think I'm very coy and sly and yet I bet you could finish half of my sentences.
