Title: The Dreams
There she lay asleep on the dusty dirt floor with a cold draft creeping under the door. There she lay with her brothers and sisters. Her mother has died and her siblings and she were exhausted after a long day of digging, digging a hole for their dead mother. The tears on her cheeks were still wet and warm. She was dreaming of a better place where everybody was treated equally and that maybe one day her siblings and she would live in a proper house with a loving family and a good education. She wanted to help all those who were suffering like her but all she could do is dream.
1,000 miles away I fell asleep after a long day at school. I was dreaming in my warm bed, I dreamt that one day I would be the most famous politician because I changed things for the better in my county and for others. I dreamt that I would be very successful and get to go to a great university and would be an idol for many.
The differences hear is not the place we sleep or the house that we live in but how we dream. She dreams that she can change the world for the better while I dream the same thing. We both dream near impossible things, but we should be thankful that we have the chance and the potential for doing the near impossible. While she has potential for fulfilling her dreams, she does not get the chances that we do, she does not have the education that we do; she does not have the wealth that we have. So we should be grateful that we have the potential and the chances to change our dreams in to reality and for all to be able to have the chance to dream and fulfill their dreams like we do.
