Title: Legends: Part 1, Chapter 7

Into the hills we went. I gave Charmander a can of lemonade to drink, it restored his energy. There was a patch of tall grass, where, as you know, Pokémon can be found.

Eevee heard something and snarled, pouncing upon a wild Rattata.

'That's right! Tackle attack, Eevee!'

Eevee obeyed, sending the Rattata flying. He then spun his three tails around, slapping the creature repeatedly in the face.

'Wow! Cool!' The Rattata lay defeated in the tall grass. Eevee walked over to me, a triumphant look on his face, his three tails swaying in the wind.

A small Oddish was walking alone. 'Go, Charmander! Get it!' I said, pointing to the lone Oddish.

Charmander nodded and slowly wandered over, a bit cautious. He examined the Oddish and tried to look intimidating, puffing his chest out and looking proud. The Oddish had a puzzled look on its face.

I slapped my forehead. 'Charmander, use a Scratch!'

With that, Charmander lifted his hand and scratched across Oddish's face with sharp claws. Oddish merely blinked and narrowed its eyes. It then kicked Charmander so hard that he was sent flying into a tree.

Eevee and I ran over to Charmander. Eevee snarled and picked Charmander up by the scruff of the neck. Then, they grew involved in their own little conversation.

'Vee! Eevee eevee vee eevee! Ee vee eevee!'

'Char? Mander char charmander. Char...'

Eevee pushed Charmander forward to the same Oddish. Charmander snarled, opening his mouth. A flurry of orange flames burst out and straight toward Oddish. That's when the small grass-type Pokémon collapsed, defeated.

'Yay! You did it, Charmander!' I said, running toward my Pokémon. I looked toward Eevee. 'How'd you make him fight like that?'

Eevee simply smirked and nodded in Charmander's direction.

It was then, after a few more training sessions, we started for the Pokémon center. It was late, the stars were high in the sky, and the Hoothoots were singing their nightly song. It was all so peaceful.

The Pokémon Center was no longer jam-packed. I figured most of the trainers had either given up or flocked to a different center.

'Excuse me,' I said to the half-asleep nurse. 'Do you have any free rooms?'

The nurse woke up. 'You're in luck. There's one more, complete with a Pokémon bed.'

Lucky for us, staying at the Pokémon center cost no money. Eevee and I walked inside the tiny bedroom. The windows were bare, except for a picture of a farm landscape. There was a small bed with comfy-looking sheets. Eevee curled up in the Pokémon bed next to the window.

'G'night, Eevee,' I said, drifting off to sleep.
