Title: The shadow
In this dark path of life,
As I tread along,
Coming across many difficulties,
In the form of humps,
Coming across red lights,
Which compel you to stop completely,
And make you wonder,
If you’re in the right direction.
They then turn green,
Indicating you to go,
Reassuring you that you are on the right track.
In this dark path of life,
As I tread along,
Coming across lots of ups and downs,
Crossing lots of people,
Some of whom walk in the same direction as me,
But who eventually take a different turn,
Some of whom obstruct our path,
But who are eventually compelled to tread on their own path.
In this dark path of life,
I tread along,
Coming across lots of strangers,
Who nevertheless seem so familiar,
And coming across other people,
Whom we seem to know closely,
But who eventually prove to be complete strangers.
Many of them smile at us,
Lifting up our spirits and making our day,
While others just glance at us with cold eyes,
And make our journey a living hell for a while.
In this dark path of life,
I tread along,
All alone,
Like a single red rose,
Amongst thousands of white roses,
Surrounded by thorns,
I am all alone,
Though I don’t lack people in my surrounding,
And my sole company,
My eternal friend,
My ever faithful partner,
Who will never leave my side,
Whatever happens,
Whatever anyone will have to say,
Not blinded by injustice, ego and jealousy,
Who is like a mirror,
Reflecting the real me,
Making me see the truth as it really is,
Always making me feel myself,
My one and only,
