A 21st Century Cinderella Story
Chapter 2 Wedding Day

Haylie - Sup my peeps! I here with the next chappy! Read on!

Haylie slowly woke up it was a very special morning. But she still
hated getting up. That is until she remembered that it was her
Wedding Day! She rushed to the window of her little garage
apartment , to see what the weather was like. The forecast was for
sunny and warm, but she just wanted to be sure. She looked out over
the lake and the sun was already shining. There was a slight breeze,
so even though it was the end of July it wasn't too hot. It was
going to be perfect!. Haylie quickly got dressed and headed across
the yard to her Mom's house. It was so nice having her family so
close by. As she went into the kitchen, her Mom gave her a big
hug! 'Good Morning Haylie! Are you ready for your big day? No more
waiting for your 'handsome Prince'. Haylie grinned. She was ready!
Her sister came in and she smiled at Haylie as she got something to
eat. Jenny was younger than Haylie by 5 years. She was looking
forward to the day's celebrations. She would be the Maid of Honor.
Haylie's little brother ran through the kitchen. That kid is always
running. Haylie loved her brother but sometimes he was a real pain!

Haylies Dad was sitting in his chair in front of the TV 'All set for
the big day?' 'Yea' grinned Haylie She just couldn't stop
smiling .she had waited so long for this day, and now it was finally
here. The phone rang and Haylies Mom got it .'Haylie', Mom called
out ' It's Jason!' Haylie ran to the phone. 'Hi honey!' Jason just
loved Haylie's sweet innocence he was just checking to see if Haylie
was up yet. There was lots to do before the ceremony. 'Hi sweetie,
are you ready to get married?' Haylie giggled 'yes .' She
said. 'Well,' Jason said, 'I have a few things to do then I will
come over. See ya later .Don't forget, I love you!' Haylie
laughed 'I love you too!' she said before she hung up. Then Mom
said, 'Well, we had better get ready.' So they all headed over to
Haylie's little apartment to help her get dressed. She hated dresses,
so she decided to wear a beautiful velvet Jacket and pants with a
silk blouse underneath. It was soft and comfortable .shouldn't a
Bride be comfortable at her own wedding? It was all white of course,
and her bouquet was a bunch of deep red roses. They looked beautiful
and smelled wonderful. Her Bridesmaids would all be dressed in red.
Besides Jenny, there would also be Kayla and Jamie .two of her best
friends. The next couple of hours were spent dressing, putting on
make-up, and fixing Haylie's hair. Haylie's sister-in-law was a
beautician so she came over and fixed Haylie's hair in a simple style
and added white flowers. Soon everyone was ready. They didn't have
far to go the ceremony and party would be held next door at the
retreat Center that Haylies' parents ran. It was situated on the
shore of a beautiful lake. The wedding would be held outside, on the
hill overlooking the lake. The meal would be served in the conference
hall and later there would be dancing under the stars. Haylie didn't
know it but her parents had also arranged for fireworks to be
displayed that night! Soon friends and family began to arrive. Some
of the people had come the day before and were guests at the retreat
center. The guests were seated in chairs on the lawn .the beautiful
panorama spread out before them. The wedding party gathered inside as
they waited for the minister to arrive. Pastor Dave and his wife
Brenda soon came and they both gave Hail a hug. They had known her
for a long time and they were so happy for her. Soon the music
started .everyone got into place and the ceremony began. Haylie was
nervous but happy. Soon it was her turn to walk out to meet her
beloved Jason. As she walked between the rows of chairs she smiled at
Jason who was standing next to Pastor Dave. It was hard to believe
that her promise was really coming true. Soon she was standing next
to Jason. Her hert was pounding. She could only look at Jason. He
smiled back. She listened to the Pastor and when it was time she
said 'I do!' Jason said his vows too. Before you could blink it was
over! She was now married! No more Haylie Duff for now and forever
she was Jason's wife. After the ceremony they had a wonderful meal
with all their friends. They cut the wedding cake and gave some to
each other. Lots of pictures were taken. Lots of hugs were given.
Haylie and Jason took a carriage ride along the quiet streets near
the lakeshore. It was so good to just have time along together for
that half hour. Then they returned to the party. They opened their
gifts and soon the sun was setting. It looked glorious as it went
down over the lake. It couldn't be more perfect. As the stars began
to come out - the patio lanterns were lit and the music and dancing
began. Haylie loved doing the first dance with Jason and then she
danced with her Dad. Everyone laughed and had fun. It had been a
wonderful day. Just as Haylie began to tell Jason she was tired.and
wanted to go back to their little garage apartment there was aloud
noise and a burst of color filled the sky. Soon fireworks were
everywhere. What a surprise! Haylie loved it. She snuggled into
Jason's arms as they looked up into the sky.. it had been a perfect
wedding day.
