Title: The Beginning of a wonderful friendship.

Johaku sped down the path towards his house. While he was running he thought about all the adventures he would have with his brand new friend. 'Hey, totodile do you like being in your pokeball?', he asked as he turned to the water pokemon sitting on his shoulder. Totodile responded by shaking his head and saying, 'toto-totodile'. 'Thats okay. I like you being out so I can talk to you.', Johaku replied with a grin. Back at Johaku's house pichu had heard him coming so he hopped onto the window sill and looked for him. 'Pichu!', exclaimed the tiny pokemon. 'Oh, Johaku must be coming.', said Johaku's mother as she looked out the window. Johaku's mother had been having tea with Mrs. Ketchum. Just then Johaku came through the door. 'Look mom! Prof. Oak gave me my first pokemon!', he exclaimed hapily. 'Oh, what a cute pokemon', she replied. 'Wow! So he gave you a pokemon of your own?', asked Mrs. Ketchum. 'Yes mam. And while I was there I met a friend of your son. His name was Richie.', he replied. 'Oh, Richie? I didn't know he was in town. Perhaps I'll go see him for a little while. Thanks for the tea, Lydia!', said Mrs. Ketchum as she opened the door. 'Thank you for coming!', replied Johaku's mother.
'Bye, Mrs. Ketchum!', added Johaku.

Johaku's mother got up to put away the dishes. 'Oh, by the way, did you tell Prof. Oak thankyou?', she asked. Johaku was busy playing with totodile so he didn't hear her. 'Johaku. Did you tell Prof. Oak thankyou for the pokemon?', she asked again. 'Oh, yes mam. I told him on the way out.', he replied. At dinner he brought up the question he had been wanting to ask. 'Mom now that I have my own pokemon can I go get some badges? His mother paused for a moment and then replied, 'Johaku you're only eleven years old!' 'I could find somebody to travel with! Please mom!', begged Johaku. 'Johaku, you have to wait until you're older. Besides shouldn't you train some first?', his mother replied. Johaku sighed and said, 'I guess so. But when will I be old enough?'. 'I don't know.', she replied 'At least a few more years.'
'Dad started when he was twelve and I think that because of his early start it helped him to be a gym leader now.', added Johaku. 'Johaku! You have to wait. What about your school?', she replied
With another sigh Johaku gave in and said, 'Okay, I guess I'll wait so I can train with totodile.'

That night Johaku went to bed and dreamed of all his adventures he would have. When he woke up he saw totodile walk in his room. 'Hey totodile! Goodmorning! I guess you got up and made your way downstairs huh?', he said after a yawn. 'Totodile!' shouted totodile excitedly as he ran towards him and jumped on his lap. 'Are you ready to start training today?', Johaku asked with a smile. 'Totodile! TototoDILE!', shouted Totodile. Johaku laughed. 'Metoo Pal!', replied Johkau. Then Johaku and Totodile's stomach growled. Johaku laughed again. 'Okay. Lets go eat some breakfast first!', he added with a grin.
