Title: The Longest Journey (Chapters 1 and 2)

Prologue

Back in 1406, during when the Renaissance started in the world, the pokémon world was very quiet. With only the kingdom of Cynte in existence, not many people were living at the time. Cynte, the king, and his dog, Fifi, were almost always in the castle since there was nowhere else to go.
One night, Cynte heard that a person was killed in the middle of the street by a knife. Even since then, knives meant disaster when they showed up at night. Only knives were used at the dinner table at night. A saying of was made about five hundred years later, relating to this law.
A few days later, Cynte and his dog were watching the night sky on the hill in the back of the castle, and he saw a constellation shaped like a knife. Just minutes later, there was a faint streak of light, like a cherry on fire. It was doubtlessly heading this way. “What is that?” Fifi asked Cynte. Everyone else also stared at it, as if it was an intruder.
The next morning, a loud explosion rocked the world and the castle, killing everyone. The asteroid that was a mystery picture last night has struck the pokémon world. Fifi survived by hiding in the Caves of Faith (as it is called today), so he took all the master’s treasure and hid it in the pokémon stadium, which was so spectacular looking. He locked the doors to the stadiums tightly, and left the building for a long time. He also hid the treasure map in a secret place where no one could find it. Only when a person gets the treasure map can the locked doors unlock. If they steal the treasure, the knife symbol will appear all over the pokémon world at night, signaling violence. The violence would be the fighting of all the pokémon. Fifi couldn’t get the spell to go away. So, when a person finds the treasure map and enter the Mountains of Isolation, the dog will warn the person about a pokémon battle because chances are, the person will try to find the treasure. That wasn’t a lie.

Chapter 1

The gloomy path continues. It continues over mountain after mountain. Aloha, Kristin, and I are walking on one of the Mountain of Isolation’s trails. We have walked for hours. Suddenly, we encountered a cave.
“Should we go in?” Kristin asked wearily.
“I think we should. At least it is cold in there.” I said. The sun has been baking on us the whole day, and although there is always a little bit of massive clouds, it is still very humid.
The cave is very tranquil and cold. It is quite dark, but there is some illumination from the outside. Drops of water occasionally fell from the ceiling of the cave.
I was excited. I’ve only seen people in caves on TV, and now I’m in a cave myself!
But we didn’t know where we are going. The continuing darkness is scary, and each step of seeing darkness gave less hope of getting out of here. I wonder if there is even an end to this cave.
Suddenly though, a pool of light raced into the cave, and there was an exit right in front after a small hill. We ran towards the light, and after we got over that hill, we saw that there was an exit.
It was very bright outside the cave. The sun was unblocked and was directly over us. In front of us were a castle and a garden, all alive. Some parts of the castle were damaged, but overall, the style of the castle was very old. We approached the castle and saw the flower garden. It isn’t old at all. Some pokémon like Butterfree and Ledyba were flying around the garden, although they weren’t very happy.
When we got closer to the castle, we saw that much of what was created before was worn away. Some of the damage might have been caused by the strong storm earlier, but some of the damage looked so gradual that it wasn’t possible that it was caused by a disaster. Maybe it was built a long time ago, so over the years, the castle materials were blown away by wind, water, and other elements. We really did not want to go in; it looked like it would collapse any second. There was no other place to go though, so there was only one place we could go.
That place is inside the castle.
“Prepare,” Aloha said, “Anything could happen in there.”
I had to agree with that.

Chapter 2

The inside of the castle was still pretty new. The walls had some gold on them, and the carpet kept its rich red color. This meant that the inside was preserved much better than the outside. In the next room, the color changed. It was made of gray stones, and it was very dark but there were windows.
“I wonder what this is,” Kristin said from the other side of the room.
I looked over there. It was a hidden door that was hard to see in the dim light outside the window.
The room past that door was very tiny, and led to a hall. Looking on both sides, we saw exactly the same things. We walked to our right, and it ended right in front a door. The door was not locked.
Wow, I feel like I’m in a haunted house.
Maybe the house is haunted! It was built probably hundreds of years ago and from the looks of this place, no one has been in here for a long time. That must mean that something happened in this area that forced everyone to move out. There was no diary here, so I couldn’t figure out the truth.
We opened the door, and inside was another room much bigger than any that we have seen. It had no windows, but a torch that was still shining.
“Strange that a building this old can still have a working torch.” Aloha commented on the room.
“Yeah, I wonder if someone still lives in here,” Kristin reacted.
I don’t know if anyone can live in a castle like this that long, I thought.
There’s something funny about this.
