Title: Morgoth: The Beginning Part Two
Iluvatar bowed his head. He knew. It was beginning.
Melkor began playing. Moments by moments, beautiful music arose. And then, discordant chords also came. Melkor was creating his own music to his own glory, not Iluvatar's!
Many of the Ainur and Maiar looked at each other. Melkor? Highest of the order, with Manwe? Rebelling? Unthinkable, yet it was happening. What would Iluvatar do? Expel them, or grant mercy?
Manwe glanced at Iluvatar, both faces reflecting pain and knowledge of what was to be done. Melkor glanced at them too. Defiance shone in his eyes. Impossible pride poured from his soul, Manwe floundering in the sadness of it all.
Only one choice could be made. Iluvatar raised his head.
