Title: I Couldn't Do It Without Them

Harry looked at Ron and Hermione and his heart sank. He had put them in so much danger over the years and he just didn't know if he could do it to them again. He didn't know what he would do if anything happened to them. Looking around Harry could see the old brick walls surrounding them. The three of them had been there a few years before, for the exact same reason that they were there now.
Harry turned to Ron and Hermione and paused. He knew he had to say the words, yet he knew that they would be the hardest to say.
‘Stay here,’ Harry forced out. ‘I don’t want you two coming any further.’
‘But…’ Ron and Hermione began to protest.
‘But nothing,’ Finished Harry. ‘I’ve put you two in too much danger and I will not do it again.’
Harry turned away from them and began to walk towards the only other door that was in the bricked room.
‘Harry,’ Harry turned round and saw Ron walking towards him. ‘Do you really think we would have came this far if we didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into?’ It was true. Ron and Hermione had always been there for him. No matter what the circumstance was. But he knew that this time was different. He could not risk it.
Hermione was now standing by Ron, tears running down her face. Yet she stood there silent.
‘I need to go alone,’ Harry said slowly. ‘Voldermort wants me, not you two. But he’ll hurt you two if you get in his way.’
‘We know!’ Protested Ron. ‘We knew that before we even arrived here. We know what we’re doing.’
Harry looked at Ron and Hermione and felt his heart break.
‘No,’ Harry said simply. ‘You can’t.’
Hermione stepped towards Harry and he was waiting for her to protest. Yet she just looked at him, another tear trickling down her face. She leant forward, kissed him on the cheek and whispered in his ear ‘Take care.’ Harry didn’t know what to do. This should have made it easier for him to walk away, yet it made it all the more difficult.
Harry forced out a smile and turned round, trying to blink out the tears. He had to walk out the door now before he changed his mind again. He tried to force himself to think that this was the right decision. Harry walked through the door and closed it quickly behind him, not knowing if he would ever see his best friends again.
Harry took out his wand and began to walk down the long corridor. After a few minutes Harry reached another room and this time it was a large plastered room, full of tanks of strange creatures. Harry stood still and looked around him, not knowing what to expect. Suddenly he heard a large bang from the other side of the room. Two figures all in black appeared in the room and began to walk towards Harry. Harry had not expected to meet someone so soon and was caught off guard.
A long, green strip of light appeared from one of the figures and shot towards Harry. There was no sound of a spell and Harry did not know what kind of charm this was. He jumped behind a tank as the light shot past him. No sooner had he moved then another shot past his left hand side. He did not know what to do. This was not as he was expecting. He was cornered already and he had hardly left his friends behind. What happened to the brave Harry Potter? Where was he know? This Harry Potter was going to die right here. Well if he was going to die, he was going to die fighting. Harry picked up the courage and jumped out from the side of the tank.
Harry raised his wand and shouted the only incantation that came into his mind.
‘Expeliarmus!’ Harry yelled, his wand pointed to one of the hooded figures. But he had not thought of the other hooded figure which had shot another band of green light towards him. Harry stood waiting for the band to hit him.
Yet as Harry stood there waiting, he realised that the band of light had stopped before him. It was just hanging in front of him, but not touching him. He spun round and saw Hermione, her wand stretched out, forming a shield in front of Harry. Ron was on his other side. He smiled at Harry.
‘She’s been revising,’ He joked pointing at Hermione. Harry smiled inside and out. They had ignored him and came to his rescue. They were his true friends. He looked over at the two hooded figures and realised that he could get past them. He did after all have his friends at his side. With them there, there was nothing he couldn’t do.
