Title: As I Walked Into The Cave...{Part 1}
As I walked into the dark cave, I realized that it was way too dark to walk in there alone and without a flashlight. 'Hey, you're gonna have to come in here with me, Trey. And bring a flashlight with you.' I said.
I'm Adrienne Hope. But my friends call me Adrienne and my close friends call me Addy. I'm thirteen years old and I live in Michigan. I've only lived here for a few months, though. My dad got a new job and so it was goodbye Texas and hello Michigan. Luckly, I found some cool friends at my junior high school to help me with this town's weird twists and turns. My friends are Trey and Alexis. I'll admit I kinda have a little crush on Trey, but for now, we'll keep that confidental.
'Hey what about me?' Alexis said as she stood up from the rock she was sitting on. 'I thought you said you weren't coming.' I said as I looked around the cave a little bit through the cave entrance while Trey was looking through my explorer backpack. My Aunt Shirley gave me that bag when I was five, and I've taken it with me everywhere ever since. 'Well, if I would have known that you were actually going in, then I probably would have changed my mind.' Alexis said nervously. I knew she was scared. In our friendship, she's more of the drama queen while I'm the nerd and Trey's the cute popular guy. I secertly envy them both.
Trey found my little pink and silver flashlight and the three of us started walking in the cave. As I walked deeper in the cave, the air started to get cold and mist began to form. 'There must be some sort of water pond or something around here,' I said as I lead the way. I continued, 'There's mist in here. Which means water.' 'We're not stupid, Ad,' Trey said. Sometimes he can be stubborn. 'So how long are we gonna be in here?' Alexis asked as she twirled her long, striaght, black hair. I wish my short and curly hair was like hers sometimes. 'I dunno. I guess until we find something cool.' I answered. 'Like what? There's nothing in here except rocks, cold air, and a whole lotta darkness.' said Trey. 'Maybe we'll find a fossil or something while we're in here. You never know.' I replied. Oh, how I wish that's what we had only found.

'Ugh, I'm getting hungry! Can we turn back pleeease?' Alexis begged and I was kneeling on the ground looking at what looked to me to be a crystal. Trey sat down on a rock nearby and told, 'Yeah, come on Addy. We've been in here for at least, two hours.' 'But I really wanna see if there's anymore cool crystals in here! Wonder if we find something cool? We could be famous one day.' I said as I stood back up again. I think they hate it when I use the 'We could be famous for this someday.' speech. 'Addy! Look, if we go now then we can come back tomorrow. I promise.' Trey said as he gave me a smile. I said with a sigh, 'Fine. We'll look tomorrow.' I grabbed the little crystal I found off the ground and put it in my explorer bag. We began to head in the other direction where the exit was. But then all of a sudden, a swarm of bats came flying through. We all started to scream. 'They're all in my hair!' Alexis screamed. 'Get them off of me!' I shouted. I saw Trey try to hit them away from him. But it was no use. Finally, the bats wentay and flew deeper into the dark cave. 'Hey, are you okay Addy?' Trey asked. 'Uh, what about me?' Alexis asked snobbly. 'Oh, yeah you too.' Trey replied fakely. 'Oh, I'm okay.' I told Trey. I felt my face getting hot around my cheeks. 'We had better get out of here,' Trey said. 'Come on. This place gives me the creeps.' he said as he headed back towards the way we came. 'Wait!' I said as I grabbed his arm. He looked at his arm and then me. 'What's wrong?' 'We should follow the bats. They always head towards the way out.' I answered.
'But this *is* our way out.'
'Yes, but I think there's something up there.'
'Like what? A monster?' Trey asked.
I hate it when he's right.
