Title: Eragon Summary

Eragon tensely walks over to the explosion that had rattled the leaves and fried them crisp. In the middle of the explosion is a blue sapphire stone. Eragon decides it is safe after a few tests and picks it up. From that, moment life in Alagasia changed forever. Staring at it, he decided that it was worth something and could pay for the meat he had been hoping to get. Eragon has no idea his life is about to change forever. He reaches his home and leaves it with its treasures after it caused a bit of quarrel in the meat store. When the traders come into town, the jewel trader has no idea of its worth. Nevertheless, he does tell Eragon that the white veins in the stone were the same material as the blue. The trader tells Eragon that it was harder than diamond. The incredibly hard stone is set aside with Eragon’s other treasures.
During the full moon, it cracks and a small head pushes out followed by its body and tail. As the creature stretches, it arches its back and opens its wings. Eragon stares at the small creature before him. He edgily touches the small, scaly head. Hot pain erupts in his body and Eragon screams in agony, and pleads for release. The pain subsides leaving Eragon on the floor breathing heavily. The Gedwëy Ignasia, a small mark that will stay with Eragon marking him as one of the legendary Riders, is a reminder and a mark that shows that he is a rider. Some servants of the king come to take Eragon away after Saphira, the dragon, grows. They kill Garrow, his only relative taking care of him. Saphira, Eragon, and Brom a storyteller leave to seek revenge on the king and the Razac. The king is a Rider who betrayed the Riders. Gatorabix, the king killed the Riders and became a dark Rider that ruled over Alagasia. He destroyed the Golden Era of Hope, Love, and good times, the Riders had ensured.
Eragon is coached by Brom and sets on his journey. He dreams of a woman in a prison, not knowing why and she is real. Later on they set their destination as the Varden, but are ambushed by the hunted, the Razac. Quickly the hunters had become hunted. An unseen attacker hurts them and then helps them. Brom takes a fatal wound and they set off for the Varden. The Varden are a rebel group that hates the king. Brom dies and then Mutagah the attacker joins them on their way to the Varden. Brom lastly told Eragon that he was a rider by showing him his Gedwëy Ignasia. Eragon is captured in the capital city, but escapes after an encounter with a shade, solders, and more hazards. Eragon escapes with an elf, the “woman” in the prison. Through her, they get instructions about the Varden and how to get there. The teams make it there barely and are submitted as ok and could pass. That meant they were not Gatorabix’s spies. Eragon meets the king of dwarves and is honored there.
Mutagah is revealed as a son of the forsworn, black riders that supported the king but had been murdered by riders. There Arya is saved from a poison and Eragon is tested. There a battle takes place with Urgals, creatures of the devil, war loving creatures under the order of Gatorabix. Eragon kills the Shade present and receives a blow in the back that will plague and drain his strength and will from him. Then the leader of the Varden is killed in an ambush and Mutagah is taken away with two twin spies. Now he is going to leave to complete his training with the elves.
