Dear Ms. Miller,
my tenth grade English teacher
who taught me not to listen to others,
not to let their negative criticism bother me,
not to give up on what I love,
not to fall victim to conformity,
not to accept something beneath what I deserve,
not to allow myself to be bullied,
not to adhere to unrealistic guidelines,
and not to respect a manipulative person,
because if I had done all of those things,
then you would have affected me.
