Title: Jennie, where are you?

' Hammie! You naughty thing! How could you?!' Jennie yelled, furiously. She flung her hands in despair. I looked at her with my chocolate brown eyes, hoping to cease her anger.

'Hammie! You are the worst hamster around. How could you?! Look now. All the lining is dirty. Your fault, you stupid hamster!' Jennie's Mum shouted and threw a quilt on top of me. I shook and scratched my fur which were filled with lice.

'That hamster!Dirty. Flea-ridden. It's as good as being on the street!' Jennie's Dad said, shaking his head and poking at my fur with some instrument used to rid fleas.

That is my life now. They are not bad... just confused. They will be good. Surely.

Last year, Jennie had gotten me as a present from her aunt, Aunty Ann. She was grinning from ear to ear. Cute. That was what she described me. It did not seem to matter that I was abused by my past owner, abandoned in a small cage at the door of the adoption centre and falling ill all the time. Jennie is there. She LOVES me. It was the best day of my life.

However, now I realise that things change. Jennie detests me. Stinky, dirty, helpless, hopeless, disgusting. This were some of the words she uses to describe me now. Boys were her interest. Rockstars were her fave. Fashion was her life. She would dress up in a black halter top and red sily miniskirts and parade all around Hill Street. She would go on for ages on the phone with her friend, discussing her latest hot boyfriend. I am fed once in a day. Sometimes forgotten. Sometimes overfed.

My image of Jennie as my best pal, loving owner, best girl in the world, Jennie as my idol, are all shattered into millions of tiny pieces. She would yell at me and slam the door. I had no freedom. None at all.

I still want freedom now. Honest. Jennie was years back. Now she is abroad studying. Her parents have sold me to a guy. Left alone. That is the best phrase to describe my plight now. A rubbish dump. My home. Illnesses are taking over my whole body. I am scared and cold.

'I want Jennie!!!!!!!!!!!!'
