Title: A day in the life of a house

I am a house. Looking at the people crossing the road, the happy kids holding lollipops. Cars speeding into their garage. As a 60 year old house, I have seen plenty. Accidents, funerals, the four seasons. Many people think that houses are just things to live infor some time and then, go off to find another better and bigger house. Nobody knows that houses have stories to tell.No one. Except some.

I am Grandpapa Leo. A old brick house with chipped paint cobwebs. I smell of garlic and am a faded shade of lime green. I have a wooden red door with a faded an dirty welcome mat on the doorstep. I used to be a huge ansion, but now am not. I really does not matter. I enjoy to see people wakling around. 'Walking movies' as the old grandmama Sherline says.

I have seen the seasons and today, is th first day of spring. Singing daffodils, humming bees, dancing birds and people yelling 'Hotdogs!' 'Hey, Grandpapa! How'cha doin'?' Little Rose asked. 'Fine. Thank you, Little Rose,' I replied cheerily. Little children rode past on their tiny tricycles and adults chattered away. Babies cried and I can hear the faint sound of newborn lambs making their way into this glorious world. 'Grandpapa, Spring again, eh?' Cricky the Cricket chirped. I nodded. 'Well then. Olde spring. Is here. Singing songs of joy...' He went hopping away.

The sun shone onto the roof of my house. 'Tea?' He aske. 'No thanks.' The flowers swayed rhythymically and trees waved their vines and branches, left right, left right. I smiled. Being old could be good and bad sometimes. Thoughts floated dreamily through my unthinking brain. 'What is there to think anyway?' i will be crashed down by eavy machinery sooner or later.

'Hey guys! Look. Some dumb house to practise our graffiti on !' A guy yelled, appering out of nowhere. They sprayed on my already dirty walls, making them messier. Vulgarities and love remarks filled my walls. Tears streamed down my hard stony face. 'Don't cry, Grandpapa. Don't ccccrrryyyy...' The ants called, carrying their little crumbs of bread. I smiled. The ants were the best little things around.

A coffin appeared from around a dark alley. A few whitle people were holding it with tear-stained faces. They are obviously grieve-stricken. They sniffed and walked on. I sniffed too. I hate funerals. They are so sad. However, we cannot do anything because death is part and parcel of life.

A cat slnked past. 'Hi Miss Moor,' I greeted. 'Hey there, Leo the Lion. Got two babies born in the Highview flat. Sneaked a peek. Kentucky has got new recipes on chicken and Gogo the Goose gave birth to some goslings. Congrats!' Miss Moor replied. Miss Moor is very nosey. Which can be positive and negative. Depends...

A house's life can be very entertaining. It just depends on the way you look at it!
