Title: A Day In A Life Of A....
The teacher. Her gaze stared fixedly around the classroom. Little brats, she thought bitterly. But it's the only job I can get.'Kids, will you all shut up?' she had had enough of yelling and shouting. The kids were shocked into silence. But quiet giggles still filled the classroom. 'Did our teacher just say, shut up?' a boy whispered to his friend, with a silly grin. I had enough with this. I hated little kids. I wanted the older kids, the teenagers. They are older and much, much better. I blinked away tears and tried to continue the lesson, but with no success.
But I noticed something. Something that made me more confident. At least one boy was listening. He was shy and quiet and was a pleasure to teach. I always write that in his reports, and tell it to his parents at the meetings. I gave an angry cry when a kid threw a paper plane at me. Such disgrace! Is that how parents raise these good for nothing kids? When the bell rang, I gave a sigh of relief. I was free. I hurried out of the classroom without a backward glance. There was one week to the end of the school year, which meant no little brats. But what I didn't realise that someone was following me. All the way to the office. I was fuming mad! I sat at my desk and began to correct work. Then my attention lifted when I heard a knock on the door. A sweet little looking kid entered. I looked closer and saw it was the shy kid, Adrian Porter. 'What is it?' I asked him kindly.
'Um, you're a great teacher.' I was flabbergasted. Was that all he had to say? He rushed out looking red and embarresed. 'Come back!' I callled. I shook my head and sighed. I thought I heard kids laughing outside, but maybe it was some joke. I hope it was nothing to do with Adrian. I got back to my work and then my heart lifted. At least someone appreciates their classes, I thought with a smile. Boy did I have alot to tell my children when I came home..
