Title: My perception of what is an ideal society

I posted this onto this section as I felt it touched more on the emotional aspect of my perception and less on the techniqualities. This is based on Matthew Arnold's 'Culture and Anarchy'- It influenced me to write this small analysis. Enjoy!

-----

Every aspect of my life has been based on the notion that there is some sort of emotional gratification towards my actions. Human nature states that one acts based on ideals that root from 'survival of the fittest'- idealistically speaking, a world in which one's actions were not necessarily rewarded would come to mind but realistically, we are undergoing a phase in which one does not feel accomplished unless rewarded- it is argueable that the rarest form of culture; 'the cultured man' (according to Matthew Arnold) is the man who indeed acts upon impulses that benefit his surroundings rather than himself- I disagree with this ideal as it is human nature to be individualistic and to act upon your outmost needs rather than that of your surroundings before yours. With materialistic prosperity, comes the need for the luxuries that transform this utopian, idealistic world into the utalitarian world Matthew Arnold fears- the state of anarchy as he calls it.
