Title: Hoenn Adventures: The beginning, Part one
Abby and Grace walked down the streets of Littleroot, their heads held high. Littleroot was a big town, but everyone knew both Abby and Grace, and were happy to see them finally setting off on their own. Alongside Grace walked a small Growlithe, and in Abby's arms was a beautiful Vulpix. Both of them were happy with their new Pokemon.
As the city limits disappeared behind them, giving way into a small field, a rush of adrenaline invaded Abby's body. It was her first day as a Pokemon trainer!
'Should we stop for lunch before we go to Ordale?' Grace asked walking up to Abby.
'Huh? Oh, yeah, I'm starved!' Abby exclaimed, a little distracted. Grace sat down on the grass, reaching into her bag and pulling out two sandwhiches and two bottles of water. She handed one to Abby and opened her own. Abby took a bite of her sandwhich, taking in her surroundings. The city of Littleroot seemed faraway behind them, and an open grassland opened up infront of them.
'Which way is Ordale?' Abby asked with a mouthfull of food.
Grace pulled out a map from her pocket, always prepared. 'North of here. If we head straight we should make it before sundown.' Abby nodded and finished her sandwhich. Standing up, she wiped dirt off of her kahki colored caprees and light blue turqiouse shirt that the sleeves came down to just below her elbows. She brushed a strand of curly brown hair away from her eyes, which had somehow escaped her ponytail. Her white sneakers were already covered with grass and mud stains.
'Then we should get going, it's already noon,' Abby said looking at her black lethered watch. Grace swallowed her last bite and nodded, standing up. The two sisters set out for Ordale town.
'Hurry up!' Abby called to Grace. 'It's almost dark, and I can't even see Ordale yet!' Abby was starting to get irritated. As they had walked across the large expand off grass, Grace had carefully picked her way around mud puddles from last night's rain shower and slowly picked her feet up over fallen twigs and debree. She was too picky; an outsider would have never guessed that these two girls were sisters, let alone twins. Abby was medium built, not fat but not too skinny, and her curly brown hair was always sticking out this way and that. Her eyes were hazel, and she had freckles all over he face. Grace, on the otherhand, was unmistakably pretty. She had wavy, thin, shiny blond hair and soft baby-blue eyes. She had stuck a pink hairband in her hair with imprints of white flowers, and she had on short jean shorts and a gray tanktop with different colored flowers patterning it. Her feet were small where they fit perfectly into pink flipflops, as opposed to Abby's exceptionally large feet.
'Well, even if it does get dark, I'm not sleeping outside!' Grace said stubbornly.
'What's wrong with sleeping outside?' Abby asked. 'It's good for you.'
'It's dirty!' Grace complained. Abby couldn't stand the way Grace was always a neat-freak. She was always organized and spent atleast two and a half hours every morning getting ready. Abby was going to change that, she was sure.
'Then set up a blanket or something,' Abby suggested. Abby snorted as Grace pulled almost a horrified expression as the sun started sinking below the horizon. She ws terrified of the dark.
Suddenly, there was a rustle in the bushes up ahead. Grace grabbed ahold of Abby's arm.
'What was that?' she shrieked, terrified.
Abby pulled her arm away. 'It's probably nothing but the wind!' But as the bushes rustled again, she wasn't so sure.
Grace took out a pokeball and threw it, Growlithe popping out.
'Growlithe, use ember on those bushes up ahead,' Grace ordered. Growlithe nodded and sent a stream of flames shooting out at the leaves. There was a cry, and a small Pokemon stepped out of the bushes, looking ready for a battle.
'What is that?' Abby asked. She took out her pokedex.
'Ralts, the feeling Pokemon. Ralts has the ability to sense the emotions of people. If its trainer is in a cheerful mood, this Pokemon grows cheerful and joyous in the same way.'
'See? It's just a Ralts,' Abby said reassuringly.
Grace seemed to relax. 'It IS kind of cute.' Abby stiffled a laugh.
'Growlithe, Bite!' Growlithe darted forward and clamped onto Ralts. The small psychic Pokemon fell to the ground, defeated.
'Pokeball!' Grace threw out a pokeball, which hit the Ralts, pinged a few times, and then stopped. Abby had to feel happy for her sister: She just caught her first Pokemon!
