Title: Where Death Breeds

Despite the thin threads of silent sunlight
That occasionally and briefly break this dark enclosure
I am tied down and worthless and withering
And driven breathlessly to a place beyond composure
Where black shadows poke and prod my soul
And the melted hearts of distress fill my bones
And I am broken beyond the damage
Of the beating of a thousand mocking stones
The desperate pleas and attempts for escape
Are failures beyond the most pitiful belief
And seeds of promise for new, cleansing life
Are cursed by the solemn and shrill cries for relief
A place where hopes are shattered along with strength
And beauty is blackened to the darkest shades of death
Purity and perfection is bound and beaten brutally
To signify the falling of an angel and thriving on her last breath
