Title: A Thrill to Remember
I clenched my teeth together and squeezed my eyes shut. I clutched the Metal railing until my knuckles ached. I wasn't on the ride the ride yet, but I was preparing myself for the scariest, freakiest rollercoaster in all of Disney.
"It was an untamed monster!" I had overheard.
Great.
Not!
"It's okay," my mom told me. "It's okay." But her voice was shaky, and I knew she was frightened too.
Finally, we approached the heart of the monster.
"How many?" the staff member asked.
"Two."
"All the way down to the end."
WHAT!!!?
The back is the wildest, craziest place to be! Only coaster-lovers sit there! My stomach lurched as I got into the car and pulled the bar over my head. Suddenly, the car took of with a screech, jerking us forward into the darkness. With my eyes tightly shut, I screamed as loud as I could. "I am going to die," I thought. "Just plain die!" My head bounced between the bar. I put one hand on it, and clutched the bar (so I wouldn't fall out!) with the other.
Then we went over the first loop. I happened so fast, I forgot to be scared. One eye dared to peek. It was as dark as night! We went over the second loop. I giggled. What fun! We banked, then went over the third loop. I felt like an eagle, soaring high above the world. I sang along with the loud rock music they were playing in the background.
"Mom!" I shouted over the music. "Mom!"
"Yes?"
"Isn't this awesome?"
There was no answer, but I knew it was yes. The ride slowed down, then came to a complete stop. I got out of the car and turned to my mom. "Can I do it again?" I asked. So I did.
I went a total of FIVE TIMES! Each time was as invigorating as the next. After going on for the fifth time, my parents bought me a pin that displayed the name of the ride, and a picture of a little car taking off. Every time I look at it, I am reminded of the loops, the music, and the thrill.
"I will never forget you," I think. "Never, never, never."
I am telling the truth.
Never.
