Dear dairy,
We are at our destination! We don’t know any one who lives here so were staying in a caravan park. It’s not very big I can tell you that. It’s only got to stinky bedrooms so I have to share with Chrissy and Darren! Lately I’ve been feeling these big sudden wind gust’s, I wonder what they could be?
I’m getting really scared now. There’s a big cloud over the town and it’s pouring! There’s huge wind gusts and the telly and the radio are going berserk. It's sending out this loud buzzing noise. Mum’s in the town hall where they’re explaining what it is and what to do. It must be serious! I better go check on Chrissy and Darren.
Mum’s back from the hall and she’s shouting get all yours things and put them in the bags and take lot’s of warm clothes. I’ll go pack the food. Mum what’s wrong? There’s going to be a cyclone. Get all your stuff together, now!
We’re sheltering in the bathtub with a big blanket over us, what a dumb spot! I can here it now; it’s coming closer! It’s such a deafening sound and it’s pounding on my ears. I can hear screams and smashing and I just want to run away. The wind is stinging on my back and I can hear walls fall around me. It’s the most frightening thing I’ve ever experienced.
The cyclone came and blew down the Burn’s cavern and Sara got blown away down the street and could not find her family when the cyclone had finally passed. Sara still had her dairy though. The day after, Christmas eve the whole world new about Cyclone Tracy (That’s what they named the cyclone.) and Sara’s dad new they were in Darwin when the cyclone hit so he came down to find them. He found Sara and they started looking for the rest of the family. After 5 years of searching they finally found them and were reunited again. Tony and sue got back together again and they moved to live in Melbourne. They were happy once again! And for the first time in her life Sara felt happy and proud that her family was together.
