Title: The Oogleburger Part Five
' Well that's relieving,' I joked. ' But why's the old man so angry that I ate one?'
' Old man!' Grandpa screamed. ' I'll tell you why this 'old man' is mad! Because you just ate the only oogleburger in the galaxy!'
' And the oogleburger is the only cure?'
' Yup,' Phrame sighed. ' The only one.'
' This is getting wierder and wierder.'
' That's not the worst.' The old man choked in his rage. ' Since the virus started with us, the ExtraGalactic Police Force will be after us?'
' In English?' I asked Phrame.
She shrugged. ' We landed on a planet that we weren't supposed to land on.'
' Why can't you land on Earth?'
' Because you guys haven't yet been able to travel in space well enough yet.'
' Jeese, thanks.'
' No offense intended. Anyway, we landed here. You know that big old model rocket on top of this cafe? It's real. We slept in there, frozen in cryogenics, for a year. Once we landed, I guess we unleashed the virus.'
Suddenly, I remembered something. I had been talking with Phrame for so long, that I had forgot about getting home! It was five-fifteen already.
' Phrame? Gramps? I have to get home. I wish I could help you.'
The old man looked at me. ' You can. Show up here tommorow, four-fifteen, no sooner, no later.'
I nodded, and walked out the door.
A little while later, I was inside my house. Mom hadn't been too worried about me being late.
' I just went to eat at a diner,' I explained.
' That's fine. As long as you were careful.'
' I was,' I promised her.
That night I lay in bed, thinking about the ExtraGalactic Police.
' I wonder when they'll find out about Phrame and her family? Speaking of family. I only saw Phrame and her grandpa. Where WAS everyone else?'
Suddenly, outside my window, I saw a streaking light. It might have been a meteorite. It might be a coment. It might have been...
' The ExtraGalactic Police!' I yelled. I sat bolt upright in bed. I had to warn Phrame!
